What are typical signs of lactose intolerance?

The typical complaints of lactose intolerance (lactose intolerance) occur directly or a few hours after consuming milk (sugar) containing foods. These are mostly non-specific gastrointestinal problems, which may be more or less pronounced:

  • Abdominal pain or abdominal pressure, sometimes spasmodic (colic)
  • bloating
  • bloating
  • Flatulence (that's what doctors call elegant when you have to fumble all the time)
  • diarrhea
  • nausea
  • Vomit
  • possibly bad breath

But sometimes there are also symptoms that are more permanent, not just right after eating. These complaints are then more a result of the constant defensive battles that take place in the intestine and leach in a certain way.

Possible complaints outside the gastrointestinal area are:

  • unwanted weight loss
  • Fatigue and tiredness
  • sleep disorders
  • body aches
  • a headache
  • dizziness
  • Restlessness and nervousness
  • depressive mood
  • and many other non-specific general symptoms

Before intolerance, I always had very small itchy pustules, mainly on the trunk. Now - after avoiding lactose - these are gone.
